American Heart Association
The American Heart Association is dedicated to fighting heart disease and stroke – America’s no. 1 and no. 5 killers. They’ve trained more than 140,000 Iowans in lifesaving CPR, helped ensure all newborns in Iowa are screened for congenital heart defects before leaving the hospital and advocated for legislation that requires all Iowa high school students to learn CPR prior to graduation. They’ve funded more than $10.5 million in innovative research projects, and provide lifesaving tools to improve community health.
