CommUnity Crisis Services and Food Bank is a volunteer-driven organization that provides immediate and non-judgmental support for individuals facing emotional, food, or financial crisis. This organization provides free, nonjudgmental emotional support with resources available via call, text, or chat as well as mobile crisis outreach and support groups. The food pantry serves Johnson County residents with no income level requirements or federal aid
status for clients to access the food they need. CommUnity also offers a mobile food pantry, food delivery service and basic needs assistance.

CommUnity’s Crisis Intervention team operates the 24-hour crisis line to offer services through phone, chat and text. Mental health counselors are dispatched to homes, schools, emergency rooms and other public places through their Mobile Crisis Outreach program, while the Food Bank provides more than two million pounds of food annually. Additional resources through the Basic Needs Program include housing and utility assistance, identification, new employment work items, bus tickets, box fans, and more.
