Matthew 25 focuses on neighborhood revitalization on the west side of Cedar Rapids, specifically in the areas of food, housing, and education. Through the pay-it-forward café Groundswell, both paying and nonpaying guests can eat fresh, healthy and locally-sourced meals. Cultivate Hope Urban Farm grows food for the café as well as the community, and serves as a platform for educating both students and adults about food. The Cultivate Hope Corner Store will soon provide the Time Check neighborhood with healthy and affordable grocery staples. Transform Week brings together over 300 volunteers to work on more than 20 home projects that aid homeowners in repairs and updates, such as flooring, painting, fencing, and beyond. The Tool Library is an affordable resource for anyone in the community to borrow tools to work on their home, garden or other projects.
