Monarch Research

Monarch Research envisions a flourishing future for Linn County, abundant with pollinator habitats, Native trees and prairies supporting wildlife, including the Monarch butterfly. Their mission involves forming partnerships with public and private entities to educate and mobilize local landowners and organizations. This nonprofit has established 1,200 acres of Native prairie in city and county parks, planted Natives along nearly 1,000 miles of roadway, and annually released 7,000 Monarchs to bolster their population. After the Derecho, Monarch Research has distributed 75,000 trees in 3 years through 49 organizations, 96 public/private schools, 4 colleges, and 5 municipalities.
